Battery Assembly Plant

What is Battery?

Batteries are used to store electrical energy. It cannot generate electricity. It can only convert electrical energy to chemical energy by electrolysis process which can directly convert back to electrical energy.

How Many types of Batteries?

There are two types of Batteries mainly.

1. Primary Battery These Batteries normally does not have rechargeable property. So they are disposable in nature.

2. Secondary Battery These Batteries have rechargeable property. These batteries are used for more no. of Charge & Discharge cycles. This process can be repeated no. of times depending upon Purity, Quality & Quantity which can go upto 1100 cycles. Why Lead- Acid Batteries are mostly used?

Lead-Acid Batteries is a secondary Battery & mostly used because of easy reclaim process of Lead. Due to lower Temp (330ºC) & sustainability of Lead. the power-to-weight ratio as well as energy-to-volume ratio is quite good. Being these reasons of Lead acid batteries is good compared to other types of batteries. More than 50% Lead-Acid Batteries are made from Secondary Lead (Reclaim Lead from Old/Used Batteries).

How many Types of Lead-Acid Batteries are there?

Basically there are two types of Lead Acid Batteries:
1. SLI {Starting, (cranking) Lights, Ignition.}
2. Deep Cycle {marine/Home lighting (inverter Battery).}

The starting battery (SLI starting lights ignition) is designed to deliver quick bursts of energy (such as starting engines) and have a greater plate count in order to have larger surface area that provides high amperage for short period of time. The plates will also be thinner and have somewhat different material composition.

The deep cycle battery has less instant energy but greater long-term energy delivery. Deep cycle batteries have thicker plates and can survive a number of discharge cycles. Starting batteries should not be used for deep cycle applications. The so-called Dual Purpose Battery is only a compromise between the 2 types of batteries.
